In this first episode, Frances is joined by her former professor, the broadcaster Lucy Durán, on a journey to Elgol on the Island of Skye to visit one of the last Gaelic psalm singers in this part of the island. Iain MacKinnon is a crofter and precentor of Gaelic psalms at his local church in Broadford. He talks to Lucy and Frances about his background and what psalm singing means to him, and teaches them the basics of how to join in singing a Gaelic psalm.
